Choosing Your Palette

Balloon finishes, explained

Every Sempertex color comes in a finish that changes how it catches the light. Mixing two or three finishes in one palette — say, Pastel Matte with Reflex Gold — is the easiest way to give arches, garlands and columns depth.

Fashion
Solid, opaque everyday colors with a soft satin look. The go-to for bold, classic palettes.
Deluxe
Rich, on-trend designer shades such as Latte, Terracotta, Eucalyptus and Rosewood.
Pastel Matte
Soft pastels with a velvety matte finish — lovely for baby showers and spring events.
Pastel Dusk
Muted, dusty pastels like Cream, Rose, Lavender and Laurel Green for modern, organic designs.
Pearl
A gentle pearlescent shimmer that looks elegant at weddings and bridal showers.
Metallic
A metallic sheen in gold, silver, rose gold and more — festive without being mirror-bright.
Reflex
Mirror-like chrome balloons that reflect the room. Perfect accents for New Year’s Eve, galas and grand openings.
Neon
Extra-vivid colors that pop at parties, especially under black light.
Crystal
Clear and translucent balloons, including Crystal Clear and Reflex Crystal Red.

Questions

Choosing balloon colors

How many balloon colors should I choose?

Most of our designs use two to four colors plus one accent finish, such as chrome gold or silver. Fewer colors read as elegant and modern; more colors read as playful.

What balloon colors go well together?

Popular palettes: white, gold and blush for weddings and bridal showers; navy, gold and white for graduations and galas; black, gold and silver for New Year’s Eve; pastel blue, pink and lilac for baby showers; and your school or brand colors for school and corporate events.

What is the difference between chrome (Reflex) and metallic balloons?

Reflex balloons have a mirror-like chrome finish that reflects the room. Metallic balloons have a softer sheen. Chrome works best as an accent mixed with matte or pastel colors.

Can you match a Pantone (PMS) or brand color?

We match as closely as the Sempertex range allows, and layering two shades can get closer still. Send us your logo, a swatch or the PMS number with your quote request.

Can I see the colors before my event?

The chart above shows each color by name. When you send your quote request, list the color names you like and we’ll design the palette around them.
